ARTÉRIA reaches its 10th issue, also in offset, contrary to expectations: 1) that it might not come out at all; 2) that, as was the tradition, it would undergo a substantial change in form (there was only a slight reduction in format). Everything indicates that, of the magazines circulating in the country, it is the only one open to experimentation and where production that values visuality and graphic aspects predominates. For the most part, it also retains contributors from other issues, some of whom have been with it since its inception in 1975. And it’s a team I like: poets and visual artists who excel in the quality of their work, which makes ARTÉRIA an extremely important publication in the field of artistic creation. Still flirting with graphics, the paper medium, ARTÉRIA continues on its journey, which has lasted thirty-five years and has taken many different forms. In NETWORK, there is no need to observe a periodicity – which is already considered obligatory in print media – because the publication can simply be growing and changing. In print media and taking on the form of a magazine, even without a regular periodicity, it draws attention to this type of production, which is concerned with research and which, as a rule, is ignored by the publishing system for books, periodicals and newspapers. ARTÉRIA therefore brings a breath of fresh air into the atmosphere of sameness that we see in our so-called literary and/or artistic milieu and a bit of joy for those who expect a little more from poetry than weird and/or bizarre sequences.
